Work for an entrepreneurial company that is leading their industry.  Consumer packaged goods company growing and needs a overall logistics expert to improve our supply chain.  We bring in containers from overseas, work with International manufacturing facilities using Ocean Freight, Freight Forwarders, Air freight suppliers, packaging and corrugated third party suppliers, and domestic freight inbound.  We use both  LTL and TL outbound freight along with some UPS shipments to customers and DC transfers.

Looking for right person with eye for improvement in details of shipping cost improvements, logistic "best practices", overall supply chain efficiencies, and strong professional leadership.  Need to be a mentor to the system, a manager to employees, and a partner with our suppliers.  Establishing benchmarks and scorecards for decision-making on supplier growth and customer satisfaction. 

Areas of expertise and knowledge:  Cubing and freight costs; container shipments, international duties and freight movement; internal master case optimization; best practices and project management; multiple warehouse management systems; consolidation of carriers; customer FOB and pickups; freight cost analysis and improvement planning.  Product specs and management involved in this position.

Best candidate makes immediate impact for high interaction with C-Level company management.  Attention to detail, system development, leadership, industry expertise and future direction, professional demeanor and maturity all considered important for this position. 

Prefer candidates within commuting distance of Rome GA (south side).  This position is to be filled quickly upon acquisition of right talent. 

Some college or advanced education required; current industry knowledge with retailers and retail industry trends, domestic and international freight; computer skills must be strong within logistics and MS Office requirements.  Minimum logistic experience would be 5+ years.
