Logistics Specialist I (Asset Disposition)
Position Summary:
Located in Tulsa, OK, the Logistics Specialist I is responsible for managing the movement and disposition of returned materials. This position is specifically responsible for maintaining a continuous flow of returned materials either through rework, scrap, RMA, sale, etc. A high degree of customer service skills are necessary in this role as this associate will interact with several departments daily and will communicate with customers and suppliers regularly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Planning, scheduling, and controlling the return of all products back from the field
· Ensure maximum efficiency is achieved from receipt to the timely disposition of material
· Work with scrap and electronic buyers to sell surplus/defective/obsolete materials
· Maintain a strong relationship with both our internal and external customers
· Maintain accurate records of collections to ensure all collections are auctioned in accordance with agreed service levels
· Review all incoming receipts (returns) to ensure compliance with current processes and procedures (documentation, packaging, etc)
· Inputs and transfers parts to multiple locations using Dynamics GP
· Handle RMA process including warranty research and documentation preparation
· Understands and recommends solutions for surplus and obsolete causes
· Provide suppliers with information regarding the age of products and when they were sold in order to justify and obtain a credit/replacement
· Keep a daily check on RMA inventory and maintain a log of all RMA goods
· Set RMA priorities with material demand
· Establish reverse Kan-ban
· Become familiar with various tactics for selling materials through the use of industry magazines, online auctions, etc.
· Liaise with Material Planner and Field Services to understand usage and failure trends
· Liaise with Logistics Coordinator to determine best process for material returns
· Liaise with Purchasing to understand supplier relationship and procedures
Knowledge/Skills Required:
The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) exp. a must.
· Communication Skills (Oral and Written)
· Knowledge of logistics and RMA practices
· Familiar with computer components (servicing, buying, etc)
· Warehouse and warehouse equipment experience (pallet jack, dolly, etc.)
Education, Training and Experience:
· Associates degree or equivalent business related work experience
· A minimum of 5 years warehouse experience preferred
· Experience with Asset Management a plus
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
The associate frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance. The associate must be able to lift, move, and control 40 pounds short distances without mechanical aid; and frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
