POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for leading the Loss Prevention efforts within an assigned cruise line while reinforcing policy and procedure and emulating the company’s corporate culture.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver standard training for store teams on Loss Prevention initiatives.
- Work with district management and store management on addressing Loss Prevention issues within assigned area.
- Manage shortage control and loss prevention programs in shops to meet inventory shortage goals.
- Lead and monitor Loss Prevention training for Gift Shop Managers, Assistant Gift Shop Managers and Sales Associates within an assigned cruise line.
- Manage the Loss Prevention Audit program to ensure frequency of audits is maintained throughout assigned area and compliance levels meet company guidelines.
- Manage reduction programs in high-loss shops to ensure compliance levels meet company standard and loss prevention goals are achieved.
- Plan, direct and control all internal/external investigations within assigned area.
- Initiate appropriate strategy to bring internal and external investigations to a successful and lawful conclusion.
- Ensure proper preparation, maintenance and retention of all reports, evidence, files and records in accordance with company guidelines and local jurisdiction.
- Complete all special projects as assigned.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all local officials and agencies and ship officers.
- Conduct ship visits and audits and provide meaningful feedback and solutions to resolve concerns.
- Assist in development of programs to reduce inventory shrink and controllable losses.
- Review, analyze and react to past and present numbers relating to shrink.
- Conduct Physical Inventory and Departmental cycle counts in all shops within assigned cruise line.
- Partner with Inventory Control Analysts and District Managers to resolve any open issues discovered while reconciling an inventory count.
JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to maintain composure and make decisions in emergencies and other stressful situations
- Flexiblity – Must be able to work all shifts (mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overnights) & travel as needed
- Ability to train others and mentor staff members
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum (4) years of Loss Prevention experience (preferred)
- Wicklander certification or other interview training
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Office programs
