Loss Prevention Technician (1269)

Description

  • Formulates, develops, and coordinates all safety and loss control functions of the plant.
  • Manages program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards through safety-training of all managers, planned inspections, skill training, first-aid care, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction.
  • Manages new employee indoctrination, physical protection, planned job observation, rules and practices, job analysis/procedures, disposal procedures, and protective equipment.
  • Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for identifying causes of past accidents.


Required Skills

Qualified candidates will have a

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in related field;
  • 1+ years experience in safety, risk and loss prevention affairs in a heavy industry manufacturing environment;
  • Extensive knowledge of rules, regulations and loss prevention management systems;
  • A broad knowledge of safety and risk laws and regulations in areas such as fire prevention, security processes, general liability, property liability, business interruption, workers' compensation, loss prevention, claims, and managed care programs;
  • Ability to manage and communicate to various groups about the company position relating to safety/risk issues;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Word and Internet.
