Sherwin Alumina is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Mechanic to work at the Sherwin Alumina Plant located near Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Maintenance Mechanic classification is a multi-craft position requiring skills in welding, pipe fitting, millwright, heavy equipment, hydraulic mechanic, and iron working.
Position requires high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years industrial craft experience preferred or successful completion of a 2 year technical program.
These positions could require rotating shifts, heavy lifting, climbing stairs, and working around heights. Successful candidates will be dedicated to safety, quality, teamwork, and motivated to become a member of a growing organization.

The Sherwin Alumina Company LLC, formerly Reynolds Metals Company-Sherwin Plant, has produced alumina at this location for more than fifty years beginning in 1953.
The primary function of the Sherwin plant is to extract aluminium oxide, called alumina, from bauxite ore. Sherwin, a "World Class" company, is ISO 9001 certified. The plant is capable of producing 1.4 million tonnes of smelter grade alumina and 300,000 tonnes of chemical grade alumina hydrate per year.
