MANAGER, ANALYTICAL SERVICES
Noramco, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Manager, Analytical Services, located in Athens, GA. Noramco, Inc. produces a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients and is a major worldwide producer of medicinal analgesics, pharmaceutical intermediates and synthetic fine organic chemicals. It also produces monomers and polymers for pharmaceutical and medical devices. Formulates, recommends and directs chemical research and development programs to meet business needs for improvement and cost reduction of existing products and processes, introduction of new products and processes for existing businesses, and development of new business applications for existing core technologies. Leads the Scientific Affairs Analytical Services Group in order to support new product introduction and existing products, by developing, validating and transferring analytical methods, together with testing of samples to support these activities. Responsibilities include: - Responsible for the safety, health and well being of all employees and contractors working in the Scientific Affairs Laboratory areas of the Noramco sites.
- Provides guidance and work direction to department employees, temporaries and contractors.
- Leads, develops and supports employees in Analytical Services Group in Athens and Wilmington. Is responsible for managing the performance of employees, temporaries, and contractors, to include involvement in processes such as objective setting, performance reviews, staffing, corrective action, succession planning, training and development, and other key human resource management activities.
- Responsible for developing annual budget and monitoring and controlling Scientific Affairs costs in line with the agreed annual budget. Identify cost savings/avoidance opportunities where appropriate.
- Responsible for ensuring that key projects for product/method development and transfer are identified, initiated, and executed in a timely fashion.
- Guides, reviews, and approves analytical development, validation and transfer projects in Scientific Affairs and external laboratories.
- Plans, performs, tracks and reports analytical work in support of developing new processes or analytical transfer projects.
- Writes technical protocols, reports, procedures, specifications and regulatory documents using scientific and compliant style.
- Responsible for the qualification, calibration and maintenance of the Scientific Affairs Laboratory equipment and computerized systems.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements include BS/MS with 7+ years of related experience in an Analytical Laboratory; or Ph.D. with 4+ years of related experience in an Analytical Laboratory; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
