Encore Capital Group has an opportunity for a Manager within our Internal Audit / Financial Compliance department.  The Manager will report to the Director Internal Audit / Financial Compliance. The Manager is responsible for planning, performing, supervising and reporting on audits of Encore’s external partners.  Additionally, the Manager will participate in the development and maintenance of a system of internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure processes to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act.

The Manager is expected to identify, assess and report on any issues and process improvements identified during the execution of projects and is responsible for presenting findings and results. The Manager is responsible for supervising, developing and mentoring his/her staff.   This role involves significant interaction and coordination with other departments and, to a lesser extent, company executives, external auditors and consultants.  This position will require up to 65% US and foreign travel.

Candidates must possess the following:

• 6 - 8 years experience in public accounting, internal audit or a combination of both
• BS degree in accounting or finance
• CPA 
• Knowledge and experience developing, planning and performing audits
• Knowledge of internal control processes
• Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and related reporting requirements, US GAAP
• Experience in specialty finance, structure finance, sub-prime consumer lending, or financial service a plus
