The Market Pharmacy Quality and Safety Manager is responsible for leading initiatives related to the optimization of medication safety, quality improvement and regulatory compliance at all Tenet Chicago facilities. They are the expert on medication safety and as such are expected to continually observe, initiate, develop and communicate necessary process improvements in the medication use system to departmental and hospital leadership. They will coordinate the collection, analysis and development of performance improvement action plans for the medication error and adverse drug reaction reporting programs. They will work closely with the Tenet Chicago Market Pharmacy team which includes the Market Clinical Pharmacy Manager, the Market Clinical Informatics Pharmacist and the three hospital Pharmacy Directors.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist by the State of Illinois. Five (5) years of progressively more responsible pharmacy experience is preferred. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, Doctorate of Pharmacy highly preferred. Completion of post-graduate training, residency and/or fellowship, in the area of medication quality and safety highly preferred Experience coordinating the Medication Management Joint Commission Chapter and/or other Joint Commission/Regulatory experience is preferred. The interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of hospital personnel and with external parties, frequently in situations which are sensitive and/or of significance to the entire hospital.
