processes cited among the barriers to getting a traditional hearing aid.

end-users and loved ones to purchase its products affordably and directly from
its websites and 800#s in minutes. In 2009, Songbird achieved the #1 position
in the direct-to-consumer hearing aid market and is poised to grow
substantially in 2010.



 



Background: The
company employs a multi-channel direct-response marketing model and is seeking
a Marketing Coordinator or Marketing Manager to support the VP of Marketing in
executing its direct-response marketing activities as well as its Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) programs.



 



Title of Marketing Coordinator or Marketing Manager will
depend on the experience level of the applicant.



 



Responsibilities:
The Marketing Coordinator/Manager will report to the Vice President of
Marketing, and is responsible for day to day activities regarding execution of
customers acquisition tactics Online and Offline, as well as Customer
Relationship Management, including being the point for Customer Service.  Some of these activities are as follows:



 



  • Drives
    overall launch and Marketing project plans and overall operational
    timelines.
  • Manages
    quality within the delivery of all Marketing operations, including set-up,
    execution, and reporting to ensure ability to effectively track all key
    metrics for Direct Response and Retail efforts.
  • Drives
    Customer Service and CRM operations, including outbound customer
    communications and marketing as well as inbound handling of customer
    inquiries. Responsible for service quality improvement and will often be
    asked to respond directly to consumers.
  • Manages
    overall Marketing budget, including overall forecasts and actuals
    reporting (with Finance lead).
  • Manages
    return process with Customer Service and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Supports
    the VP of Marketing and other members of the Songbird Management team on
    as needed basis, which may include analysis, drafting of creative briefs
    and copy, and other items as required.


 



Qualifications: The
person in this position will wear many hats, touching nearly every aspect of
the Marketing operations (internally and across outsourced agencies), and as
such requires flexibility, intelligence and analytical thinking, superior
people/team skills, and excellent communication skills both written and
oral.  Finally, since the internal
Songbird team is small, an ability to be a “self-starter” is critical. 



 



While a business-to-consumer Direct Response and/or Retail
background is preferred, it is more important that the Marketing Coordinator/Manager
be intelligent and ambitious about helping Songbird achieve its growth targets
and eager to learn and grow in this position. 
Several of the qualifications are as follows:



 



  • BA/BS;
    MBA is a bonus.
  • 2-5
    years in Marketing management position in a direct-to-consumer
    organization with a strong online presence.  Previous experience should include
    project management, campaign operations/reporting/analysis, and customer
    relationship marketing.
  • Ability
    to manage multiple projects to successful and timely completion.
  • Proficiency
    with all base computer business tools, including excel and powerpoint.  HTML skills, while not required, is a
    bonus.
  • Excellent
    communication skills and ability to work effectively with and/or lead Marketing
    vendors/partners.
