Members of the Missile Defense National Systems Engineering Team (MDSET) develop the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Integration Strategy for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position supports the agency's Model and Simulation (M&S) Team which is chartered with executing all system engineering processes necessary to support for MDA/DES with additional emphasis on Integrated Theater / Regional threats and Early Intercepts.





Job Description:

The successful candidate will function as the Colorado Springs lead for the M&S Capability/Requirements Analysis Team and will interface with several internal and external groups to help define candidate M&S architectures, concepts and capabilities. S/he will plan and execute trade studies that specify M&S capabilities by identifying, defining and documenting system and subsystem architectures and performance requirements for system-level models, Concept Descriptions and Users Cases. Coordinates with other functional working group leads, senior management and government customers. Interprets analysis results, documents results in reports and briefings and presents results to leadership.





Basic Qualifications:


Technical background in element and system BMDS technology. Experience/working knowledge of BMDS sensors and countermeasures with a strong background in the development of analytical tools and numerical modeling of complex systems using a computing environment. Strong communication skills. Education and experience commensurate with that of a technical lead capable of leading small teams. Capable of assuming a study lead role in analyses and coordinating the efforts with other subject matter experts. Able to participate in assessments of architecture alternatives, including war-games and table-tops. System Engineering experience.





Desired Qualifications:

Ballistic missile defense experience, strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities. Familiarity with BMDS SS generation.





Required Education: BS with MS preferred in Engineering or applicable Engineering Sciences, Quantitative Science, and typically more than 18 years experience in a system engineering classification.
