Job Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, team-minded MECHANICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER that possesses strong leadership skills, is technically savvy, and has strong, dynamic customer relation skills. Our ideal candidate may be a current Service Center or Mechanical Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer that possesses the following experience and traits:

 

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience:         
    • Technical based mechanical gear engineering
    • Customer relations experience
  • Exp w/ gear calculations & metrology
  • Solid works exp (+++)
  • Equipment / component assessment experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Resolution of field service issues
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong management skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability and willingness to advise management on engineering issues

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate customers’ equipment to determine suitability for rework / replacement
  • Determine if individual components can be reused / reworked
  • Determine cost effectiveness of repair / replacement of equipment  
  • Utilize understanding of critical manufacturing tolerances to reverse engineer and create CAD drawings for components produced outside of the company
  • Develop and design detailed drawings for unit upgrades
  • Conduct failure analysis and develop technical reports
  • Coordinate engineering and manufacturing activities at vendor facilities and other company locations
  • Maintain a support capability to assist field sales effort in making technical presentations to customers
  • Assist in technical training of shop personnel
  • Oversee the resolution of field service problems
  • Interact with customers, vendors, office, and shop personnel
  • Serve as technical liaison to the engineering department at the main factory
  • Manage Engineering team
  • Using hands-on experience, serve as technical lead in resolving engineering issues
  • Work closely with the Engineering team to meet production goals  

Requirements:

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Experience with the following:
    • Design or manufacturing engineering
    • Assembly / test supervision
    • Field source engineering
    • Turbines or compressors
    • Mechanical Power Transmission
    • Gear calculations
    • Gear metrology
    • Reverse engineering
  • Knowledge or experience with the following:
    • Fluid film and rolling element bearings
    • Vibration analysis
    • Gearbox / Gear Box
    • Power Transmission / Gears (PLUS)
  • At least 5 years of experience working within a manufacturing setting performing activities such as field service engineering and/or equipment repair
  • Highly knowledgeable of critical manufacturing tolerances
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of a computer
  • Strong management / leadership skills
  • Success in partnering with management to address engineering related facility issues 

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

 

Rate of Pay:

$85,000 to $90,000 Annually

 

Hours:

1st Shift
