ASK Staffing is seeking a MMIS Systems Analyst for our client in the Columbia, SC area.

General Duties:

The MMIS Systems Analyst is responsible for managing all technical aspects of engineering and the software development life-cycle (SDLC) for a replacement MMIS, a multi-year effort that will be one of the largest IT projects in the State. Duties include planning, execution, and reporting on technical aspects of the project and other related activities. As the majority of the system development work will be outsourced to vendors and other Client organizations, the Technical Manager must manage and coordinate multi-organizational technical efforts to achieve project objectives. This person may supervise other technical staff, and that team will also be responsible for reviewing all technical artifacts produced by all participating organizations for accuracy and completeness. The team will also be required to generate written analyses of technical aspects of the project and give oral presentations on similar topics.

Other related duties as assigned

This is a leadership position with the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to enable success on this high-visibility project.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong background in software development and architectures, particularly large systems. Experience in MMIS (or other healthcare claims systems) is a plus.
  • Public sector procurement experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the design and application of service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience in business process management (BPM) systems.
  • Strong understanding of software development life-cycles and how to adapt the proper life-cycle to a specific system or project.
  • Successful leadership and management experience.
  • Superb written and oral communications skills. Strong proficiency in English is required.
  • Impeccable integrity. This project will have very high visibility and will impact significant expenditures of public funds. Candidates must be confident with their abilities to make correct decisions and the courage to speak out when they are uncomfortable with the direction the project is taking.
  • Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and organizations on a continuous basis.
  • A bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or other related field is required, and a masters degree is preferred.
