MRI Technologist

- Under general supervision, performs a variety of M.R.I. procedures on pediatric and adult patients. Ability to perform all M.R.I. procedures requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimal results. Ability to operate all equipment including computer disc drive, MT console, scan control console, CRT display/photography console, line printer plotter. Communication and interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with department and hospital staff. Must have knowledge of medical equipment such as Code 99 cart, various tubes, catheters, IVacs and other lift support equipment. CPR Review. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area. Performs intravenous injections of MRI contrast material under the supervision of a physician and within the scope of practice. Level of knowledge consistent with completion of two year approved program and registration in Radiology by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Two years radiology technology and/or specialty experience. TN
