Position Title: Database Administrator Location: Corporate Department: Information Technology Title of Supervisor: Director, Information Technology
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Design, maintenance, and the tuning of production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability
· Creating, testing, and deploying changes to complex ETL processes
· Writing code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures
· Working with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
· Troubleshooting production processes and solving problems in real-time
· Supporting the production database systems by responding to and resolving production issues

EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree or higher in Business Information Systems or other technically-oriented major
· 2-4 years of experience working with all aspects of MS SQL (2000 / 2005 / 2008)
· Experience in a production environment with emphasis on ETL processes (SSIS / DTS)
· Experience designing databases from concept to implementation
· Experience with C#/.Net/ASP
· Analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
· Knowledge and experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
· Exposure to medical-claims processing is a plus
· Experience with MS SQL Reporting Services is plus
