We have an immediate need for a MVS Systems Programmer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Project Description & Tasks
- Provide support on account for MVS responsibilities:
- Provide support for the MVS operating system.
- Install and maintain MVS operating system and associated components, such as JES2, DFSMS/MVS, ISPF, SDSF, VTAM, etc.
- Install and maintain ISV system products on the MVS mainframe

- Implement projects to customize operating system software to support the customer.
- Provide programming support for the customer MVS exits and in-house written system programs.
- Provide technical support to the customer Application Development organization.
- Provide technical support to Data Center Operations
- Coordinate hardware and software installations in the customer Data Centers.
- Provide technical justifications for hardware and software upgrades
- Work closely with hardware and software vendors regarding problem resolution and regarding new products and services.
- Provide management reports regarding the MVS systems as necessary.
- Provide 24 hour technical support for the customer MVS systems in Dubuque, IA

Special Skill Requirements
- Specific knowledge of MVS internals.
- Specific knowledge of MVS-related products such as JES2, ACF2, VTAM, SYNCSORT, TSO, etc.
- General knowledge of all software/hardware components of the customer MVS systems.
- Ability to understand technical direction
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations
- Minimum five years experience in MVS systems programming.
- Bachelors degree with significant coursework in Computer Science or the equivalent in experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in written and oral communication skills.
