Machine Design  Engineer I

Tri-Star Technologies, a South Bay manufacturer has an immediate opening for a Machine Design Engineer I.  The primary function of this position is to use knowledge and skills to assist in design, development, prototyping and manufacturing of automated production/assembly equipment, and assist in guiding production/assembly personnel.

Additional responsibilities include:

·        Work from engineering design documents, prototypes and/or change orders.

·        Work with the design of new or revised products through to satisfactory completion including installation at the customer’s sites.

·        Ability to use CAD/CAM program to perform design tasks.

·        Monitors the quality of the manufacturing and assembly processes.

·        Investigate and analyze quality problems, recommend solutions and ensure corrections are made.

      Candidates will have 5-7 years of professional experience in machine and mechanisms design and development, a working knowledge of manufacturing materials and power transmission components, a working knowledge of machine shop processes (methods) and working knowledge in AutoCAD 2000/2002, MS Office.  BS degree in mechanical engineering and 3D ability preferred.  Candidate will assist in production inventory control and cost reduction activities.  We are looking for demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently.
