Job Description:
Reviews production schedule at the start of each shift to determine production run, the need for changeover to a different size tablet configuration or, if line is down, for scheduled maintenance.
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
Readjusts tablet presses and make changes by setting up assigned equipment for change in material, size, product, or for change of pack pattern, Tests equipment for quality of operation when changeover is completed.
Tests equipment to check operation. Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
Examines, tests and measures equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments and records data on appropriate forms. Checks equipment for visual defects.
Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Examines finished product for conformity with quality specifications and records data. Checks product for visual attractiveness and/or defects.
Performs rebuilds installations and repairs of all compression and coating machinery in a timely manner.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on compression and coating machinery per Maximo PM and work order system.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds any facility machinery as assigned.
Performs inspections of tools for safety and ease of use. Tools are to be secured at all times. Tools are to be kept in good working condition. Clean and maintain work area.
Must be dedicated to lock out tag out procedures and wear personal protective, equipment as required by SOP's and Maximo.
Performs manual tasks in carrying machine parts and tools and materials to and from the job, lifts and holds parts, cleans up work areas, etc..
Dismantles, overhauls, and assembles equipment and machinery as necessary.
Performs routine oiling and greasing of all assigned equipment as necessary.
Sharpens and reshapes drills, chisels, scrapers and redresses rough grinding wheels.
Performs all aspects on heavy jobs in related area.
Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, straightedges, etc.
Trains machine operators in their essential duties and safety precautions required when working on the equipment.
Advises supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action required.
Directs machine operators and service personnel in details of daily schedule, standard operating procedures and requirements
