We are seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor to manage machine shop activities.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for managing machine shop activities related to machining including: supervision of all machining personnel, planning, scheduling and monitoring activities to minimize machining cost, promote and ensure safe work practices.

Responsibilities:

~ Assign jobs according to priorities in order to maintain scheduled completion dates, utilizing the most appropriate machines and employees for efficient production.

~ Supervise and provide leadership to all employees involved in Machining in order to effectively meet company goals and objectives.

~ Orients, trains and instructs all employees in the safe and efficient performance of their duties;

~ Utilize machining background to make sound decisions on scheduling work and manpower on machines, as well as continuous improvements.

~ Supervise employees by checking product in all stages of production to maintain a high standard of quality and quantity in accordance with ISO and Company requirements;

~ Promotes, maintains, and enforces safe and healthy working conditions for all employees in accordance with legislative requirements and Company standards

Requirements:

~Minimum of 5+ years of actual machine shop supervisory experience with at least 10+ personnel

~Proven leadership, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple functions to meet required deadlines

~Must have strong work ethic, outgoing and assertive personality

~Strong mechanical, mathematical and analytical aptitude. Technical machining background in a manufacturing environment with strong CNC experience preferred

~Knowledge of milling, turning, and grinding.  Experience with working to dimensional tolerances as small as 0.0002”

~Experience with ISO9000 and lean manufacturing methodologies would be an asset.
