Machine/Tool Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design and develop complex manufacturing processes, equipment, associated tools and production floor layouts
  • Independently design process improvements to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency
  • Independently create and execute process risk assessments, testing, and validations
  • Responsible for key project deliverables (Quality, Efficiency, Spend, and Timing)
  • Own project capital budget, ensuring spending is within approved limits
  • Create new engineering specifications including drawings, BOM's, and test procedures.
  • Review all proposed product and process changes. Generate/approve PCN's.
  • Work with QA to insure appropriate product testing processes are in place to assure customer satisfaction


Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree: BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience (New graduates are welcome to apply)
  • Proven experience with automated machine and tool design
  • Experience with OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies preferred

 
Preferable Skill Sets/Experience:

  • Highly motivated and self-starter
  • Project management skills in leading large, complex projects
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Ability to create and maintain engineering specifications including BOMs, Job Routings, and Product Change Notices
  • Knowledge of control systems preferred (PLC, HMI, etc.)
