Job Title: Machinery Engineer - Corporate Engineering Staff Role Overview: The Machinery Engineer fulfills a technical specialist consulting position in the central research and engineering staff in support of multiple petroleum refineries. You will provide in-depth analytical and technical leadership and support to refining sites with a focus on troubleshooting, asset improvement, and technology selection.

Primary Responsibilities: - Drive asset improvement of major machinery in areas of safety, reliability, environmental performance, and equipment capability
- Support major capital projects in areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance and start-up assistance
- Assist refinery sites in the application of new machinery technology
- Analyze site equipment performance
- Provide regional technical leadership through involvement in formal technical networks and workgroups
- Develop and deliver technical training for plant engineering organizations
- Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines, and conduct research to deliver technology advantages to refinery and chemical plant operations in the areas of energy, margin, and emissions control
BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering 10 or more years of machinery engineering experience with either a major petroleum or chemical company, engineering contractor, or major machinery manufacturer Extensive knowledge of large rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, gas turbines, and fans, including auxiliary controls, protection, and monitoring systems Broad experience in machinery application, selection, performance evaluation, design reviews, re-rates, troubleshooting, commissioning, start-up, maintenance, and overhaul Knowledge of analysis and modeling methods including thermodynamic performance, stress analysis, rotor dynamics, blade dynamics, and root cause investigation techniques is preferred Knowledge of international design and construction codes related to rotating equipment, including knowledge of control and safety facilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills
