In ths role, you will fulfill a global and/or regional technical specialist consulting position in support of multipled oil refineries, providing in-depth analytical and technical leadership and support to refining sites with a focus on troubleshooting, asset improvement, and technology selection for capital projects. This position drives site asset improvement in terms of safety, reliability, and equipment capability. You will analyze site equipment performance, assist sites in the application of new technology, and provide technical leadership through technical networks and workgroups
This engineer also supports major capital projects in areas of machinery design consulting, technical quality assurance and start-up assistance, and develops and maintains technical standards and guidelines. You may also conduct research to deliver technology advantages to refinery and chemical plant operations in the areas of energy, margin, and emissions control.
We are very interested in individuals with the following background:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS degree preferred but not required)
Minimum of 10 or more years of machinery engineering experience in the refining industry
- Broad experience in machinery application, equipment selection, performance evaluation, design reviews, re-rates, troubleshooting, commissioning, start-up, maintenance, and overhaul
Knowledge of machinery analytical and modeling methods including thermodynamic performance, stress analysis, rotor dynamics, blade dynamics, and root cause investigation techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
