We have several exciting opportunities for a CNC Machinist in Spokane, WA.


We have six 2nd shift Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3am openings


and one 1st shift opening.


 


Candidates must be flexible to work all shifts, including working required overtime to help department meet demands.  Must be willing to train for and perform other tasks as needs are presented.  Must abide by all safety guidelines and work instructions of Honeywell.  All new employees are expected to work directly with a trainer and to follow this trainer's instruction until proficiency/qualification is achieved.  Additional requirements of all employees include active participation in Honeywell Structured Safety Process and support of continuous improvements, continuing personal learning and training.


 


Pay for this position is $16.00/hour plus a $0.50/hour shift differential (for 2nd shift only).



Job Summary: Perform all machining operations required to produce finished products from a variety of materials. Work from blueprints, specifications, job layouts, and written and/or oral instructions for the successful set-up and operation of manual machine tools and set-up/operation of CNC machine tools, dimensional inspection, data collection, and paperwork completion.



Job Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

•Successfully create parts from a blueprint, manufacturing operations and tooling instructions, or engineering instructions.


•Set-up and operate CNC and manual lathes, mills, grinders, etc., to very close tolerances •Use micrometers/other measuring instruments in order to perform quality control checks on parts in-process and upon completion


•Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner


•Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve quality and productivity •Exercise care and safe work practices - work requires close tolerances and fine finishes •Tasks may include development parts, depending upon production demands and product mix


•Determine which of several alternatives to use in conjunction with the programmer to accomplish tasks


•Make simple program changes and fixture modifications via manual edits


•Solve problems and deviations in accordance with previous training; interact with engineers to find solutions to new or unusual problems


•Enter process data when required


•Perform necessary tasks and paperwork for the proper movement and control of parts and material in conjunction with manufacturing tracking system


•Actively participate in Honeywell Operating System (HOS) activities, daily meetings, understand what is to be accomplished during the shift, and discuss any new shift related issues.


•Actively participate in Honeywell Structured Safety Process (SSP) activities, attend daily safety circle meetings, complete daily, weekly, and monthly safety related tasks.


•Accountable for work station or work cell housekeeping.


 


 



Basic Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.


•Completion of Machine Shop Technology program with machinist-level experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required or equivalent combination of training and experience.


•Must be able to read and understand blue-prints. 


•2+ years experience with CNC set-ups and change outs is essential.


•Must be able to lift 40 lbs with or without a lifting device.


 


Additional Qualification:


•Must be capable of setting up and machining a variety of parts in assigned department.


•Knowledge of CNC programming (G code and Fanuc control) is preferred.


•Experience with manual lathe, preferred. 


•Experience machining tantalem, cooper and/or aluminum preferred.
