Description
  • Must have thorough and complete knowledge of, solid state devices, electronic circuitry and their theories.
  • Must be able to use and understand the test equipment that is used in association with this job.
  • Duties consist of inspecting, recognizing and correcting faults that appear in the electronic and electrical equipment including, bias cutters, photoelect.rica1 switches automatic scale equipment electric eyes, programmable controllers solid state drives, computer interface equipment, etc.
  • Responsible to maintain and provide proper care for all electronic equipment in the plant.
  • Keep electrical equipment such as wiring, switches, switchboards and electrical mechanisms, in good repair and operating condition.
  • Replace defective wiring and making connections to new electrical installations, replacing burnt out fuses, repairing electrical fixtures, etc.
  • May make new installations of fixtures, motors and other electrical equipment, occasional requiring minor rigging.
  • Lay out, assemble, install and test electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment and wiring used in the alarm, light and power system of the plant.
  • Plans proposed installation from blueprints. Installs pull boxes, conduit and other wiring devices.
  • Measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles and installs conduit which connects the various outlets, panels and boxes using various tools as necessary.
  • Draws wire through conduit, splices wire, installs and connects equipment to wiring system.
  • Tests circuits for continuity and proper connections. Installs, maintains and repairs electrical power lines between various installations in the plant and makes up small accessories necessary to the job, such as brackets and the like.
  • Climbs poles, not using climbers, on pole steps or ladders and installs hardware, lightening arresters, power cables and auxiliary equipment.
  • Makes repairs and replacement to maintain lines, but does not work on energized lines above 480 volts.
  • Performs proper sequence of switching duties in sub-stations, reads meters, starts motor generator sets and synchronous converters in sub-stations ad the like.
  • Locates trouble on electrical and electronic controls and rotating equipment and makes necessary mechanical repairs, such as replace bearings, tightens bolts and the like, when necessary.
  • Performs all work in strict adherenance with Lock Out-Tag Out principals.
  • Thoroughly versed in the operation, trouble-shooting, repair and replacement of PLCs, Motors, Drives, Relay Logic, Pumps, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Material Transfer, Measuring and Metering equipment.
