We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to work at our Skippy Manufacturing Plant in Little Rock.

 

PUPROSE:

To improve maintenance reliability through TPM and other continuous improvement methods. Provide maintenance support for the operations and quality functions, including both the facility and human resources, with the responsibility for meeting the plant objectives. This includes compliance with all safety requirements, while being consistent with the plant's social-technical environment.

 

The characteristic of this job involves a close coordination of maintenance activities during factory shutdowns. It means that most of the maintenance work is usually performed during weekends and holidays, in order to minimize production capacity and business impacts.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

BS Degree in Engineering or related field.

5+ years in food manufacturing.

PLC programming experience.

Activities are typically performed during weekends and holidays, in order to reduce the impact to the business.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

- Coordinate the maintenance of plant electrical distribution, instrumentation, control system and equipment. Assures that safety, quality customer service and productivity/cost standards are met.

- Manages and provides training, direction and leadership to 14-16 Mechanics, 3-4 Electronic Technicians, 1 Maintenance Planner, and 2 Parts Coordinators, 7-8 Maintenance contractors.

- Initiates SWOT analysis to align the maintenance department with its short term goals and long term goals.

- Continuously evaluates equipment, processes, work methods, practices, and procedures for opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.

- Drives continuous improvements activities utilizing TPM techniques and through training, group facilitation and active support. Solicits and develops ideas for improvement of existing equipment, procedures, work methods and material handling methods in an effort to increase productivity.

- Provides technical support for continuous improvement activities. Supports TPM objectives and activities by working with Pillar Champions, TPM Coordinators, and Team Members to best utilize plant resources.

- Initiates and facilitates communication within assigned areas and across group boundaries as needed. Promotes team building and joint concern among all team members in support of achieving operational objectives.

- Promotes the philosophy and principles of a socio-technical management system through a demonstration of personal action and integrity

- Demonstrates integrity and concern for policy and procedural compliance.

- Activity supports all Safety, Health, & activities.

- Manages safety and sanitation activities within assigned areas to insure compliance with all Unilever and external regulatory standards, including self-certification and product safety in cooperation with the Quality Control Department.

- Troubleshoots maintenance, quality, safety and operational problem as needed.

- Other duties as assigned
