INGENIA POLYMERS, INC.a rapidly growing international manufacturer committed to excellence,with an increasing list of Fortune 500 satisfied customers in thePetrochemicals and Plastics Industries, is looking for a full time Maintenance Lead-Handto assist us in the day to day, on the floor management of our repairand maintenance crew in our plastic processing facility in Houston.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This is a hands-on, working supervisory position, reporting to the Maintenance Manager at our Houston, TX facility.
  • Improve reliability and uptime of equipment and proactively approach equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality. 
  • Supervise hourly maintenance staff and secure the proper and timely execution of work orders on a daily basis, both on the floor and in our ERP systems.
  • Systematically update management information system to allow for proper productivity and efficiency tracking of the maintenance department.
  • Develop an uncompromising safety culture on the floor, driving for industry leading safety performance. 
  • Troubleshoot mechanical devices in operation; dismantle/examine devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair or replace defective parts. 
  • Set-up and operate shop machinery such as power tools, drill press, grinders, plasma cutter, cutting torch, welder. 
  • Use hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify/repair parts. 
  • Install new or repair/modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. 
  • Operate forklift and hydraulic working platform. 
  • Research supplies, parts and machines needed to complete work orders. 
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of parts. 
  • Perform/document work orders and preventative maintenance tasks. 
  • Troubleshoot repair/replace electrical and input/output devices and components.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Must have a strong electrical background: Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician.
  • Solid and extensive experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in a plastics compounding environment.
  • Proven supervisory experience in a non-unionized environment.  
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems including gear boxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, AC, DC, drive troubleshooting, complex machine controls and instrumentation, complex welding/brazing, hydraulics, plumbing, pneumatics, carpentry. 
  • PLC skills a plus.
  • PC computer skills.
  • Proven knowledge of electrical components troubleshooting/repair. 
  • Ability to read, communicate and comprehend written and oral instructions in English. 
  • Ability to implement, enforce and maintain guidelines. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and answer a cell phone for call-outs. 
  • Requires initiative, reliability, good attitude, and teamwork.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physically able to lift a minimum 50 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods of time and perform strenuous hands-on maintenance tasks under hot and humid working conditions.
