Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Shift 11pm-7am


 


General Duties:  


Meet the minimum skill requirements for the Entry Level maintenance mechanics in both knowledge and skill level as set by the MACS review. Assessed areas of skill and knowledge are Electronics, Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Metalworking and / or Fabrication, Mechanical.


 


Effectively trouble shoot and repair most plant equipment without the need to SWAP parts in the process. May require some help using basic test equipment and manuals including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical prints, to identify the faulty component.


 


Actively work to improve technical capability to include moderate levels of complexity across all plant equipment. Expected to work to understand, and explain in some detail, how the various systems in the plant operate.  This knowledge should include the interaction between the systems and how the communications take place.


 


Effectively investigate how the various PLC systems and programs in the plant operate and interact.  Able to access and trouble shoot simple to moderate problems with the PLC’s connected to the programming terminal in the PLC Lab.


 


Complete assigned work, and to work on opportunity tasks that may surface during the normal day to day operation of manufacturing.


Effectively interact with all team members including the various plant operation teams. Regularly attend and participate in meetings and training. Participate in BPP and specific action teams, not as a representative from maintenance, but as an active member and participant.


 


Work effectively with the other mechanics including the mechanics from other departments. Work as a team to increase technical/business skill and knowledge sets and share information. Open communication and team work regarding issues, resolutions, and business needs.  Works as a team to ensure attendance and coverage needs are met.


Conduct them self in a professional manner at all times.  It is expected that others see the Entry Level Technician as a person that is willing and able to help with most equipment related issues and business opportunities.


 


Continuously improve skill and knowledge sets from the first day of employment and advance to the Trained Level within two (2) years of employment.


Continually grow his or her knowledge and skills through external means if necessary to become a technical expert and problem solver for the department.
