For more than 65 years, Kaman Precision Products, a division of Kaman Aerospace Group, has been a leader in the development and manufacturer of: FUZING SYSTEMS – offers a wide range of services, from research and development to full scale production for safe/arm devices, fuzes, motor igniters, flight termination devices, and related equipment. Kaman fuzes can be found on many of the U.S. and international military’s missile and bomb systems. MEASURING SYSTEMS – offers high precision position/displacement sensing. Our eddy current systems can resolve position changes to the sub-atomic level and can operate at extreme levels of pressure and temperature.
Responsibilities: Work under the general direction of the Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance with minimum supervision and is responsible for external and internal maintenance of company facilities as well as performing layout, installation, repair, modification and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, electrical equipment and machinery. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Layout new electrical installations, control wiring and control panel design in accordance with all codes, regulations, and safety specifications. Assist plant engineering in planning new installations and facility rearrangements. Evaluate and select alternative methods for electrical installations. Diagnose problems in electrical systems, circuitry, and operations. Select/specify replacement parts, motors, etc. Make alterations as required. Perform emergency repairs, as requested to offset downtime and production delays. Utilize appropriate test instruments, gears, and equipment to test and ensure compatibility and safety of all circuits, in-line components, switches and controls. Maintain logs and records as required by policy/procedure, state and federal laws. Prepare written reports, as required. Diagnose problems, recommend and take corrective action.
Must possess and maintain a Type D2 or higher Heating, Piping & Cooling Limited Journeyman License enabling the purchase and handling, recovery and recycling of refrigerant chemicals such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’S) and hydro chlorofluorocarbons (HCFC’S). Work with other Maintenance personnel in solving problem situations in order to avoid excessive downtime and production delays.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive company owned and leased vehicles. Must be available for weekend/holiday work as requested.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or Equivalent to a complete accredited apprentice training. Must have a Type D2 Heating, Piping and Cooling Limited Journeyman or higher license. Over 3 years up to and including 5 years, to qualify. 2-5 years experience in reclaiming refrigerants required. Requires the use of advanced shop mathematics, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas and a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. Ability to use personal computer to input and search for data. Must have knowledge of construction trades including electrical, millwright, carpentry, welding and plumbing.
