Summary

Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in any necessary general mechanical and preventative maintenance including inspections, servicing, repair and overhaul of equipment related to tea or sauce production and the general warehouse and office facilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

 

§  Perform routine and specific assignments including repairing machinery in the production area.

§  Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with Maintenance Supervisor or Production Supervisor to diagnose problem or repair machine.

§  Assist in dismantling defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.

§  Assist other staff in handling materials on major repair or installation projects.

§  Keep Plant Manager and  Maintenance Supervisor informed of any unsafe items or conditions and makes recommendations for solutions.

§  Perform related work as required.

§  Ensure and promote safety and quality according to company policy.

§  Assist in production when needed to run equipment or train other employees.

§  Cross train for all other production jobs as requested.

§  Follow lock out-tag-out program and assist others in this endeavor.

§  Look for ways to improve machines.

§  Make adjustments where needed to machinery to meet or exceed goals safely.

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience                          

All applicants must have either a High school diploma or Trade or vocational school diploma; or five years of maintenance related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills                          

Applicants must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, drawings and memos.  Applicants must have the ability to write correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.

 

Mathematical Skills                          

All applicants must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

 

Reasoning Ability                          

Applicants must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. 

 

Computer Skills                          

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

-       Fork Lift Certified

-       OSHA certified

-       Licensed or trained in welding, electrical, and mechanics

      -    Corrugated Box Machine Experience and welding experience a plus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
