A Maintenance Mechanic controls the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic repair and preventive maintenance.

Maintains, troubleshoots, diagnosis, and repairs all mechanical and electrical equipment and shares knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts/ principles to other maintenance personnel

Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment

Follows all established Food Safety guidelines and General Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work environment

Assures preventative maintenance program is conducted on all plant equipment and reports and qualifies results

Performs welding, cutting, and soldering using electric and gas equipment

Reads equipment manuals, blueprints, and other sources of information to build knowledge, and assures appropriate operation and repair of equipment

Provides emergency/ unscheduled repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime

Communicates effectively with outside vendors and equipment manufacturers

Informs the appropriate facility personnel/ supervisor of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would effect their area of operation

Monitors, completes, and maintains efficient and accurate paperwork as needed

Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by team leader

Assists in orientation and/ or training of associates

Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal

High School Diploma or GED required. Technical School graduate preferred

3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment

Must be able to pay attention to detail and demonstrate independent reasoning and judgment

Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement, and Temporary Teams as assigned

Possess basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/ building maintenance welding, machining, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, drafting and blueprint reading knowledge

General mechanical skills and knowledge relate to troubleshooting and service of various types of equipment

Knowledge of power and tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Will be exposed to plant production environment, indoors and outdoors

Exposed to elements- cold/ heat/ humidity

Employee regularly required walking, twisting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility

Must be able to lift 50lbs

May handle potentially hazardous equipment and materials

Works in high noise area, hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements

Occasional testing of energized electrical equipment

Will be required to work around bakery ingredients

Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception

Able to work multi-shift environment

Ability to work with minimal supervision
