Plan and supervise the daily maintenance repair and PM of all plant machinery, utility, fire and safety, building and chemical unloading for a 3 shift maintenance team

Specific responsibilities include: 

Plan and organize ongoing upgrades, additions, and modifications to the entire operations effort to improve safety, production and efficiency

Interface with outside contractors on material, design, and installation of equipment and related items for improvement or repair of facilities

Interface with vendors and the procurement entity to facilitate parts and materials in a timely and cost saving manner to maintain efficient production.

Perform hands on maintenance to include a basic extra set of hands to trouble shoot, repair or program PLC’s to assist the workers as needed to expedite projects or repairs.

Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications and the training of others in such.

Conduct safety meetings; ensure compliance with SOPs, OSHA, quality, and 5S requirements.

Provide guidance and direction to subordinates; set performance standards and monitor performance. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time.

Associate Degree (Bachelor Degree preferred) and 5 years relative maintenance experience such as multi-craft technician, computer skills, knowledge of OSHA and NEC Codes and Standards, and PLC programming. 3 years prior supervisory experience required. Experience and knowledge in the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance Philosophy and Predictive Maintenance Programs a plus.

 

Proficient in English to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing, speak, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

 

Major portion of job will be on the floor supervising technicians. Will assist with the work when required which will involve climbing, reaching, pulling, stooping, bending, squatting, carrying, etc. on and under machines will be necessary. Candidate will also work in an office setting specifying and ordering parts for a portion of the day.
