Japs-Olson Company is a commercial printer and direct mail manufacturing company.  We are located in St. Louis Park, MN with 500 employees and annual sales of $130,000,000.  Japs-Olson’s maintenance department plays a key role in production daily operations, equipment development and optimization to enable long term growth of the company. 

Japs-Olson is looking for maintenance technicians with strong electronics background to proactively troubleshoot, diagnose and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all production and plant support equipment in a challenging, fast paced manufacturing environment.  This position offers full benefits with competitive hourly pay based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair wide variety of electrical/mechanical production equipment


• Determine root cause failure of equipment to understand how to prevent reoccurrence.


• Use electrical test instrumentation such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, meggers, timers and oscilloscopes.


• Provide preventative maintenance of production line equipment


• Interact with the production leaders, and other maintenance technicians to improve and maximize plant output, efficiency, quality, and safety.


• Willingness to work flexible hours as project demands dictate


• Supply and maintain own tools

Qualifications:

• 2-year technical degree


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


• Have good physical stamina and able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.


• Strong direct experience supporting both the mechanical and electrical aspects of maintaining plant manufacturing and equipment. Experience with PLCs, AC/DC drives, instrumentation and complex machine controls required


• Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits


• Experience in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, AC / DC / Servo drives, PLC / HMI and pneumatics.
