The Human Capital Services (HCS) team -- a practice group within Baker Tilly Consulting - is looking for a Manager with experience in the areas of HR Technology and Change Management.  This position can be located out of our Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; or Minneapolis, MN office locations.  Our HCS team works with clients to build plans for proactively addressing and minimizing the people risks that result from business changes (including technology, process, transformational, structural, etc.) and also to optimize workforce talent.  Our main priority is to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the human resource function, providing HR executives, managers and staff the tools and techniques to do their jobs better.

The Manager in the Human Capital Services practice will assume a number of responsibilities, including:




  • Lead and execute complex HR Technology and Change Management projects.


  • Manage day-to-day project activities; establish appropriate leverage on project teams and assign/manage project responsibilities to team members.


  • Employ skills around the evaluation and implementation of packaged software solutions, particularly with an HRIS, Payroll, and Workforce Management specialization.  Relevant software packages include, but are not limited to:  Ceridian, Kronos, Ultimate Software, Workday, PeopleSoft, Lawson, etc.


  • Exhibit knowledge and experience in the software development lifecycle, including software analysis, design, build, conversion, testing, and related activities.


  • Understand a client’s human capital and change management issues, explain the factors involved and help shape organizational solutions to deliver value to the client.


  • Proactively demonstrate to clients the impact/people risks of organizational change and build and manage the plan for reducing this risk.


  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management and staff.  Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and strategies that address project risk and performance.  Manage expectations of service delivery and overcome client obstacles and objections.


  • Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional leadership by accumulating skills and knowledge that is relevant to the clients business and unique business issues.  Acquire industry knowledge and use it to improve the clients perspective and performance.


  • Deliver quality professional services by leveraging Baker Tilly methodologies and resources.  Ensure that all deliverables are relevant and contain the appropriate level of detail and quality control.  Communicate facts, findings, recommendations and solutions to the client with impact and empathy.


  • Collaborate effectively as a team member, leading and contributing to the team’s success as appropriate.  Work independently when necessary and leverage client and Baker Tilly personnel when necessary to meet objectives and deadlines.


  • Generate new business opportunities.  Understand Baker Tilly and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to bring value to clients.  Develop long-term client relationships and networks.  Develop relationships with other Baker Tilly team members across all practices to serve client needs.


  • Organize work through effective detailed work planning and directing small consultant and client teams.


 


The most qualified applicants will also possess the following qualifications, skills and experience is necessary to be considered for this position.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record of providing services to senior HR executives and client teams.


 




  • 5-8 years experience with a top tier professional services firm(s).  Big4 experience preferred.


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree (MS or MBA) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or a similar field


  • Experience leading 2-3 HR technology implementation projects in the lead project manager role


  • Experience with one or more of the following HR technology vendors: Peoplesoft, Lawson, Kronos, Ultimate Software orCeridien.


  • Experience leading 2-3 HR technology implementation projects in the lead project manager roleExperience delivering business process improvement during technology implementation projects


  • Formal training in ERP/packaged software implementation methodology


  • Experience with change management tools and techniques


  • Functional depth in one or more of the following areas:  complex payroll processing, employee performance measurement and HR administration


  • Experience creating, communicating and presenting business case and cost justification analysis to Executive Management


  • Ability to provide exceptional client service by effectively leading project teams, prioritizing and balancing work in a fast-paced, team environment


  • Prior experience developing proposals, statements of work and cost/resource estimateSuperior analytic and problem solving capabilities with advanced skills in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Visio


  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills
