Finance and Accounting
Job Description
a. Managing the month-end close process including analytical reviews, journal entry approval, process execution and management. Involving the coordination of all financial processes with SBSF and SSC and other activity to enable the reporting of financial results to Philips management.
b. Standard reporting requirements to Philips Country, Product Line Teams and Global Organizations. Involving maintaining the integrity of the data in all financial reporting systems including local SAP, BCS, RPO, Tax, and SAPCON. Providing results that can be relied upon by Senior Management, as well as aiding in answering questions to enable a better understanding of the business results.
c. Coordination of all internal and external audits. Position requires individual to be the key point of contact between the business and KPMG, Internal audit. Providing reporting, data, business knowledge information, and facilitating discussions as needed.
d. Ensuring and coordinating Sarbanes Oxley compliance within North America, including Plant locations in the US and Mexico. Monitoring, reviewing, and executing controls across the business. Initiating and supporting projects to ensure integrity of processes and compliance to rules. Quarterly reviews and presentations to the CEO & CFO of the results of ICS testing. e. Act as the North America region LE financial liaison to the PD/BG in Eindhoven. Resolve financial issues and questions as posed by the PD/BG. f. Act as the Financial Controller providing financial support and analysis to the Enabler group each with their own functional group VP’s (IT, Legal, Finance, HR and Design & Engineering). This support includes but not limited to: Analyze and review the monthly and quarterly financial performance of each group. Provide recommendations to the functional VP’s to improve financial performance of the group Plan, coordinate, direct, review and analyze each of the functional group’s annual AOP process Plan, coordinate, direct, review and analyze each of the functional group’s quarterly ROFO process Review and analyze proposed CAPEX projects for the group Coordinate and review the ICS, SBC and other control functions for the group Perform internal audits on the group to clear audit issues and ensure strict adherence to proper internal controls. Recommend and direct the development of policies and procedures on internal controls.
g. Monitoring and maintaining financial system structure, utilization, and performance. Approval of changes to Cost centers, profit centers, reporting changes, and other master data items. Testing of all changes made to the system to ensure uninterrupted continuation of key business functions. Implementing process improvements for utilization of the system in support of new business initiatives. Supporting BIF initiatives for corporate process improvements (EBP, PPF,BCS among others) h. Managing a staff of 1 direct report, Indirect Management of 12.5 Associates and leads supporting our AP & GL functions in Chennai, India.
Requirements
• Minimum 7-10 years experience working in a finance related area. Preferably in an industrial products environment • Knowledge of spreadsheet programs. • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and procedures • Experience with Finance and Accounting module of SAP • Involvement with NAFTA/Maquiladora activities a plus • Must be capable and comfortable in dealing with all levels of management • Excellent analytical skills • Strong change management skills
