Responsibilities
- Lead a team of individuals on a daily basis in providing client service directly to the Chief Financial Officer and Finance executives within world class financial institutions.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year while establishing expectations of value to be delivered.
- Advise clients on a variety of business process services that help identify, assess, measure and manage financial performance in organizations. These may include: finance function strategy, financial close, and chart of accounts design, reconciliations, reporting strategies, management reporting, management accounting, regulatory reporting initiatives and financial systems strategy.
- Research emerging industry trends, regulatory guidance, and best practices.
- Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.
- Recommend modifications to client infrastructures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and risk management programs.
- Generate new business opportunities. Understand the full service lines and actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services. Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally.
To qualify you must have:
- a bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
- a degree in finance, accounting, or a related business discipline; MBA preferred
- a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a consulting environment with a focus on finance improvement for financial services clients, encompassing either banking, capital markets, asset management companies and/or insurance
- experience with the design, development and implementation of internal controls for financial services business processes a plus
- basic understanding of accounting, regulatory and compliance concepts prevalent in financial institutions
- excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations
strong analytical skills; specifically, the ability to assess and decompose financial services industry processes utilizing a risk and control focus
- effective leadership, project management and teamwork skills
- willingness to travel approximately 50%, on average
