Job Title:               Manager, Business Development

SUMMARY

 

A Manager, Business Development is responsible for lead generation with targeted accounts within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic channels.  The primary responsibility will be to generate qualified leads through the use of telemarketing and email campaigns which will be given to the Directors of Business Development for follow-up.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Achieve lead generation metrics through the ongoing efforts of telemarketing and email campaigns at customers in identified targeted accounts in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic institutions.
  • Identify new opportunities in new accounts based upon the suite of service offerings of NGS
  • Based upon qualification, lead generation will be followed up by either a Director, Business Development, or the fulfillment of specific collateral sales and marketing materials.
  • Ensure that all contact information acquired is captured and maintained within ACT or designated CRM system for assigned accounts
  • Routine activities include making 20-30 calls/day and or sending out 20-30 emails daily to targeted customer types within our target customer groups.

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

        Knowledge of the purchasing process of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic accounts

        Experience managing sales process through ACT

        Understanding of the drug discovery and development process

        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

        Ability to rapidly assimilate complex, scientific information

        Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

        Ability to multi-task

 

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

 

  • 0-5 years experience selling into the pharmaceutical industry
  • 0-5 years experience interacting with key academic institutions
  • BS or higher in a scientific area (Biochemistry, Cellular Biology, etc)
  • Hands-on protein lab experience desired but not required

 

SALARY RANGE45-55K base, 10% bonus eligibility, standard benefits, including health insurance and matching 401k, stock options after 1 year
