Manager Business Partner, Research Materials

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced professional to join the Research Materials group within the Molecule Design BT organization as a Business Partner. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering impactful IT solutions to enable industry-leading compound management and distribution capabilities for Pfizer R&D.

Role Responsibilities

Business Partnership

  • Partner with Research project teams to understand their needs and challenges and proactively identify ways in which information technology can address them
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization, prioritizing requirements and managing expectations as needed
  • Develop a deep understanding of relevant business and data workflows and become established as a technical expert in the relevant systems

Project delivery

  • Conduct business analysis activities necessary to identify a business need, problem or opportunity, define the nature of a solution that meets the need, and articulate the investment necessary to deliver that solution.
  • Collaborate with business customers, solution delivery providers and shared service groups to implement quality solutions that deliver the expected business value and maintain necessary service levels

Accountabilities

  • Accountable for a portfolio of Research Materials-focused applications and ensures these deliver expected business value
  • Accountable for the responsible management of project and support budget, including the forecasting and tracking of project expenses and accruals
  • Accountable for audit and inspection readiness of applications (if required)

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Degree in computer science, information technology, life sciences, or related field (Graduate degree preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience delivering information technology solutions in the biopharmaceutical realm
  • Specific experience in or supporting Research Materials / Sample Logistics strongly preferred
  • Excellent skills in leadership, strategic planning. relationship management, verbal and written communications, business analysis, project management, customer focus
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with individuals and groups at multiple levels across the organization
  • Experience in delivering IT solutions using software development lifecycle
  • Experience in vendor relationship management and in budget management
  • Practical technical skills, including the ability to understand and troubleshoot technical aspect of applications, curate data and perform at least some basic scripting or coding (e.g. Pipeline Pilot, SQL, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Software development experience and capabilities

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to enter Research Laboratories in support of hardware and software installations, support and troubleshooting.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to periodically travel globally and within the US in support of project meetings and vendor negotiations.
