What Communications Bus Partner contributes to Cardinal Health


Communications Business Partner is responsible for the development and implementation of communications strategies in support of a specific business sector/segment, corporate staff function or key initiative.





What is expected of you for success in your role

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of communication processes, principles and best practices

  • Collaborates with senior segment leaders on communication strategies to achieve business objectives

  • Recommends and applies communication best practices within complex environment

  • Leads complex communication projects

  • Identifies, manages and aligns communication resources as appropriate to meet complex objectives

  • Identifies needs and develops and leads key department/business complex communication projects

  • Proactively develops and maintains broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in own functional area(s); applies broad knowledge of trends.

  • Demonstrates deep customer expertise; collaborates with appropriate parties to identify the drivers leading to business success.

  • Uses deep subject matter/functional expertise, influence and process skills to help internal/external customers and stakeholders identify and meet their high priority needs while considering cultural and diversity implications.

  • Jointly develops practical implementation plans that consider cultural sensitivities with other accountable parties.

  • Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of protocols, programs or deliverables; compares measurement results to standards.

Accountabilities in this role


 


  • Develops EIT communication/change management strategy based on near-term priorities and longer-term vision, partnering with Chief Information Officer and lead IT strategist.

  • Leads and directs internal communication to support EIT goals and projects, as well as other business requirements, using the most effective communication channels based on audience needs and preferences.

  • Identifies and develops positive working relationships with target employee groups at all levels.

  • Ensures that project updates are appropriately communicated to leadership, stakeholders and key customers and that input is obtained on communication plans and messages.

  • Supports and reinforces training programs for new Cardinal Health systems and processes.

  • Ensures that project success metrics and milestones are achieved.

  • Coordinates efforts with other functional groups such as Operations, Sales, Inventory, HR, Legal and Quality & Regulatory Affairs as well as the business segments.

  • Provides regular updates on projects.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.





Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree (major in marketing, communications, web design, fine arts, graphic design, journalism, English or related field)

  • 6-8 years work experience in related field.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office programs and related marketing/communications technologies

  • Strong ability to develop and implement strategies and programs that support and help meet business objectives.

  • Experience in health care industry and advanced degree (Master's) a plus

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience in large-scale change management initiatives

  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of communication vehicles (print, web, video, scripts, presentations) and, preferably, experience with "new media," i.e. social media and collaboration sites

  • IT experience is a plus
