Manager, Core Laboratory

Responsibilities:



Manages the clinical
diagnostic sections of the Clinical Laboratory. 
Ensures the accurate, reliable, and timely production of chemistry,
hematology, microbiology and blood bank information for clinicians.  Responsible for the most effective use of
materials, personnel, and resources to produce quality test results and
positive outcomes in patient care. 
Fosters teamwork and doing whatever is necessary to maintain a smoothly
running department.





Qualifications:



  • Baccalaureate degree in clinical laboratory science, or equivalent
    field of study 
  • Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license; ASCP
    certification recommended 
  • Five or  more years of
    supervisory experience in a hospital laboratory
  • Basic knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, inventory management,
    and equipment evaluation
  • Basic knowledge of charge and revenue regulations for hospital
    laboratories
  • Computer literacy: ability to use word processor, spreadsheet
    applications
  • Able to pass El Camino Hospital physical examination and color acuity
    testing
