ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Finance's primary responsibilities include financial reporting, corporate taxes, accounts payable, billing and collections, budget development and monitoring, underwriting, cash management, risk management, SEC reporting, mergers and acquisitions activity, payroll, disaster recovery planning, internal audit and investor relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle This position is responsible for managing, organizing, monitoring and troubleshooting the Billing & Payers Collections team to perform within the following collection quality standards:
Responsible for accurate and complete billing of all medical claims for services rendered by Specialty Pharmacy both through paper and electronic means. Review of claims to ensure acceptance by payer. Review of claims to ensure billing accuracy. Review of reports to determine that all amounts have been appropriately billed. Provide assistance to team members in answering questions and providing training on process and task.
Plans and produces work plan to attain and maintain billing no more than +1 day from date of shipment.
Plans and produces work plan to attain and maintain DSO of less than 36 days.
Meet all established monthly cash targets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to motivate and train both billing and collections team to perform at peak efficiency, will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Insurance Payers, and will work with all outside departments to meet cash target while maintaining compliance as a company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Develops short & long-term goals for department and plan of implementation to bring to completion for on-going success of department.
2.Bills to third party payers via electronic or manual processes daily. Reviews billing exceptions to determine root cause reporting adverse findings to department management for escalation to external departments.
3.Manages a group of Exempt Supervisors and their corresponding teams to ensure maximum efficiency is kept and quality goals are met. Routinely audits paid claims to determine billing accuracy and appropriate calculation of contractual allowances.
4.Records compliance of supervisors regarding all aspects of employee management including mentoring, auditing, productivity monitoring & coaching for success. Assist supervisor in processing of daily reports; answering team¿s questions; providing training to process and or task. Escalation of employee issues and or concerns to management.
5. Meet productivity standards, clean claims billed accurately within 24 hours of being marked shipped complete.
6. Ability to interpret data for staffing and improvements as necessary to manage change
while trying to maintain consistencies in employee tasks. Corresponds with director on
employee/HR issues, state of the department and any service issues involving key
clients or legal risk issues to the company.
7. Drives leadership meetings with direct reports to pass on information, strategize projects
and keep all lines of communication open.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years in Leadership role, with experience in managing exempt level employees preferred. 1 year experience in insurance background or health related field required. Bachelors Degree preferred. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to host meetings with large groups of people. Must know how to interpret data/metrics within the database system and within the staffing tools utilized to find deficiencies. Strong knowledge of Word, Excel & Power Point preferred.

4-5 years experience related to medical billing or insurance related field
Strong mathematical skills
Medical bill coding knowledge preferred
