Manager, Data Center Operations is responsible technical design and implementation of Windows infrastructure and long term Virtualization strategy. They must cover most aspects of IT operational processes (e.g. commissioning/decommissioning, change management, support request management, patch management, capacity management, up time management, SLA standards, troubleshooting and problem resolution). This position involves managing project-based activities in a fast paced, high-tech corporate environment, with minimal resources.
Role and Responsibilities
5 or more years of management experience with Windows infrastructure in an enterprise class company (7000+ users, 300+ servers).
Detailed technical knowledge of Microsoft AD, DNS, Win2K8, Exchange, OCS 2007, IBM blade technology, VMware, Microsoft email archiving.
Good knowledge and experience with fixed and virtual storage (DAS, NAS, SAN) and IP networking.
Experience with major application and server virtualization initiatives
Experience with large scale server/data center move or relocation
Experience with server sizing / capacity planning
Ability to communicate written/verbal with all levels of management.
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word as well as Visio.
Ability to perform physical activity (e.g., h/w installation, climbing ladders, building racks).
Experience with HVAC and UPS technologies (APC)
Experience with data center / IT concepts is desirable.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
Microsoft, VMware, and/or Data Center Certifications a plus
