Accountabilities in this role
- Provide leadership, strategic planning and subject matter expertise that ensures appropriate EH&S systems and resources are in place.
- Advise regional and facility management on EH&S matters.
- Create regional EH&S plans to ensure conformance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Develop regional specific EH&S processes and procedures in support of company-wide initiatives and direction.
- Lead regional goal setting, monitor performance and report on progress.
- Drive facility execution of tactical and strategic initiatives in order to eliminate hazards and reduce or eliminate risks and drive continuous EH&S performance improvement.
- Provide regional specific solutions to on-going EH&S related regional issues.
- Continuously assess company/business/regional EH&S hazards and risks and assist facilities where specific technical expertise is required to meet local regulations or company policies, procedures and programs.
- Working with facility personnel, plan for and implement actions and activities to minimize and manage claims and to contain and control workers' compensation costs. Provide hands-on assistance as necessary.
- Actively participate in the investigation of significant EH&S incidents and ensure timely and complete implementation of corrective actions.
- Act as a key channel for ensuring timely communication of significant facility activities and events.
- Deliver regional developed training and education.
- Develop and deliver specific regional focused EH&S training.
- Assure competency and quality of facility level EH&S resources and develop/mentor talent.
- Promote knowledge transfer through regional teams, best practices and training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's. degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- (CSP) or (CIH) certification preferred.
- 5 years direct EH&S experience managing multiple facilities.
- Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA and EPA, EH&S management systems and workers' compensation requirements.
- Must be able to clearly and succinctly communicate, market and sell practical EH&S solutions to all levels of regional and facility personnel.
- Requires up to 50% travel.
- Position based in the South Region. (Atlanta or Dallas)
