Manager – Grocery Retail Programs
ABOUT THE POSITION:
As part of the launch team supporting the roll-out of a food-based health management program, the person in this role will define, plan, execute, support and maintain the company’s in-store merchandising and marketing program. The scope of our in-store presence includes both proprietary products and a new whole store wellness program.
The position requires experience with in-store merchandising programs, strong interpersonal skills, an eye for detail and aesthetics, an appreciation for healthy food, confidence in cooking and presenting food as required to support food sampling events, a genuine personal commitment to wellness, an ability to speak fluently about our program and products not only to shoppers but also to those who are already program members, highly developed organizational skills, and a willingness to drive between 20-40 grocery stores in the Boston area.
The right candidate will be capable of building and managing a staff as our company grows and expands.
REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES:
- Assist with development and implementation of the in-store marketing and merchandising plan for each retail site in the greater Boston area.
- Manage the in-store sampling program, including staffing, supplies, event coordination with other retail activities and health screenings
- Assist with and expand plans for the branded product placement/appearance and the overall retail wellness platform in the stores
- Maintain consistently positive communication with all internal and external clients to build relationships, optimize customer satisfaction, and to enhance future events and program opportunities.
- Complete all written/electronic monitoring/reporting requirements as directed.
- Work with management to improve and expand the retail experience and program awareness with consumers based on customer and retailer feedback during rollout phase.
- Provide ad hoc services as directed by management, including assisting at employer site events.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure objectives are met in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with store managers and staff.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, & REQUIREMENTS:
Skills:
- Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills, including use of MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with retail food product promotion, merchandising and marketing.
- Adheres to all confidentiality guidelines and protocols.
- Cooking experience a plus.
Qualifications:
- College degree or higher.
- Minimum of two years experience in food marketing and promotion.
- Experience with food demos and sampling a plus.
