JOB DESCRIPTION
Description
This position will serve as a project manager for the HR Group and Staff Relations. The project manager will develop & implement materials and programs which support the HR organization as well as the organizational strategic vision of the department and the company.  This person will be key in our continuing efforts to 'raise the bar',  innovating and leading many of our key initiatives.  Projects include:  Assist with strategic objectives roll outs and updates; Staff recognition & appreciation efforts, HR-related training programs; document and materials creation, revisions and updates of critical HR materials to include handbooks and policies; recognition programs, HR Group events and others.   This role should have a broad base of understanding of all HR functions to better support the various programs and must be able to manage projects from strategic inception through execution.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leading HR projects from strategic inception through implementation
  • Working on departmental key objectives as directed by the VP of HR and VP of Staff Relations
  • Developing and revising programs and policies; conducting effective rollouts
  • Managing outside vendors who provide project support to include consultants, media vendors, etc.
  • Developing materials, presentations, and training for key initiatives.  
  • Facilitating meetings, discussion groups, and project teams to coordinate work plans, obtain ideas & feedback and expedite processes.  Examples include: 
    • Recognition & Appreciation Efforts across the Company 
    • New Corporate 'Alignment' Program Development and implementation
    • Staff Relations Programs -  Communications & strategy
    • Engagement Survey Communications Development & Implementation, Actions and Follow-up
    • Award Nomination Processes
    • Proactive approaches to union avoidance and legal mitigation
    • Internal Communications (SOTC, new ideas, websites)
    • Improve Onboarding

 

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in HR, Journalism, Business or related area
  • HR generalist: S/PHR or equivalent experience desired.  Experience across a variety of HR functions is a plus, particularly Employee Relations.  
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to provide effective written communications in letters, charts, and graphs
  • 5 to 7 years experience in HR (restaurant or retail experience a plus)
  • 2 to 4 years program management or program support work is strongly preferred. (A master's degree with additional experience through fellowships and internships will be considered.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, is flexible, can multi-task and has a great sense of humor!
  • Ability to develop work plans and manage multiple projects
  • Multi-unit/multi state experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced experience in major MS office products (Word, Excel, Power Point) are a must. Additional proficiency with MS Publisher, Visio, and Access is a plus.
  • Stand up training experience desired
  • Ability to work with all levels
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and practice a high level of discretion
  • Must be service-minded and possess a caring "Team" attitude
  • Local travel may be required upon occasion
