The Manager II (Macro & Robotics Automation) position in Anthem's Claim automation team is responsible leading a team dedicated to automation development supporting the claims organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in macro and robotics automation and with a minimum of 5 years of experience. The candidate must have automation experience working with agile and waterfall delivery. This role will be technical as this is not an administrative management position. It is a deeply tech execution-oriented role, with a heavy emphasis on RPA and the related tools.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides leadership in motivating the associates to accomplish the claims automation opportunities for the claims organization.
  • Has experience leading geographically diverse teams to include off-shore development.
  • Manages multiple plan of record projects; delivers and supports software system solutions that support the operations of the claim automation team.
  • Works closely with system analysts, developers, stakeholders and business leaders to define and manage execution of projects
  • Works with the business to set the priorities for the team. Communicates and oversees the delivery of the priority delivery items.
  • Implements the policies, practices, and procedures of the company and Information Technology (IT) organization.
  • Establishes relationships with Business partners and manages the communications with the business ensuring the priorities are met.
  • Develops a strong team through training and effective organizational development practices.
  • Audits quality standards of the processes and developed software periodically.
  • Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things accomplished.
  • Manages resources effectively and efficiently to support the operational needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of the committed deliverables to the Business partners.
  • Oversees department or functional area within business unit, which may encompass multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.

  • Experience leading agile teams, preferably in Scaled Agile or Scrum
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or rated field;
    • 5+ years of experience in software delivery and providing direction for professional exempt employees
    • 3 yrs+ leadership or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Strong solution design and development experience is required.
  • Ability to manage across geographically diverse associates and vendor partners.
  • Health Insurance industry experience is a plus
  • Experience in Claim domain is preferred
  • Experienced with macro and robotic automation
  • Expertise in relevant tools and technical skills required such as UiPath, .Net or Open Connect.
