Summary of Position
Directs and coordinates activities of a convenience store, selling gas and merchandise in the store, by learning to performing the following duties personally or through subordinate assistant managers. This is done by shadowing the store manager in all duties relating to the stores operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Customer Atmosphere and compliance of Road Ranger service policy at assigned store.
o Responsible for superior quality customer service and an “I Appreciate Your Business” attitude.
o Adheres to the four rules of customer service.
§ We greet the customers at the door.
§ We greet the customer again at the counter.
§ We ask the customer, “How may I be of service to you?”
§ We thank the customer and encourage them to come back and see us again.
· Responsible for safe guarding cash
o Collects cash, checks, or charge payments from cashiers.
o Counts money in safe at the beginning and end of every day.
o Records daily transaction amounts from cash registers to balance with daily paperwork.
o Responsible for end of day reports and cash overages and shortages.
o Responsible for daily deposits from store sales and the buying of change for cash registers.
· Responsible for safeguarding of store and inventory control.
o Reviews price sheets to note price changes and sale items.
o Records all variances between registers and Price Book.
o Oversees the stocking of shelves and pricing of items when needed.
o Responsible for the accountability of end of shift of cigarette shortages as recorded by cashiers.
· Responsible for the store appearance.
o Responsible for the oversight of cleaning and maintenance.
o Responsible for the oversight of emptying trash, washing pumps, and cleaning the restrooms etc.
o Responsible for the oversight of Road Ranger’s daily maintenance checklist.
o Responsible for the oversight of stocking the cooler.
· Responsible for the oversight of cashier’s paperwork.
o End of shift paperwork
o End of shift cigarette counts
o All other paperwork pertaining to the job
· Agree to and support Road Ranger Mission statement and policies
· Additional responsibilities to include
o Able to govern store to assure superior customer service in all of his/her shifts.
o First in command of the store.
o Able to train new cashiers and correct other cashiers in proper activities.
o Able to explain daily report sheet and help others find problems with their reports.
o Able to cost/retail invoices.
o Able to trouble shoot register difficulties.
o Must know, understand, and comply with Road ranger policy book.
o Must make sure store and store employees comply with all Road Ranger policies at all times.
· Managerial responsibilities
o Able to oversee the responsibilities of all assistant managers and employees.
o Able to govern employee’s hours to the set schedule and store labor budget.
o Able to complete accurately daily gas survey by 7:30 am.
o Must be able to lead others to perform goals of company and set an outstanding example to all other store employees of hard work, superior customer service, and integrity.
o Able to complete accurately daily store paperwork by 10:30 am.
o Able to order for store from Eby Brown the proper merchandise.
o Accountable to know duties of every shift.
Education and / or Experience:
· High School
Other Qualifications:
· Must possess good communication skills
· Must be able to speak English well
· Must have good basic mathematic skills.
· Able to perform all jobs of the cashier in a far superior manner.
· Have superior skills relating to all paperwork.
· Able to know and perform every shifts responsibility in the store.
· Able to teach others on how to do paperwork and perform his/her duties.
