Manager, Marketing Communications
Job Description
 

The Manager, Marketing Communications will participate in the design and proposal portion of the sales process through general communications, facilitation, and information support. Working effectively with offshore resources and managing marketing and promotion activities.  This position will design, coordinate, and produce the company's Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses and qualified unsolicited proposals on a timely basis while ensuring high quality and consistency with potential client and Minacs standards.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops RFP and RFI written responses from cross-functional SMEs and design team inputs
  • Develops tables of contents for unsolicited proposals in conjunction with sales leads and prepares documents from SME and design team inputs
  • Develops proposal work-back schedules, manages design team member input timeline requirements, and works to proposal deadlines
  • Prioritizes and coordinates multiple proposals simultaneously
  • Meets client formatting requirements for all proposals as well as Minacs' quality and style standards
  • Monitors and manages "look and feel" of final proposal document by creating graphics and editing for style, professionalism, and content
  • Edits, proofreads, and rewrites final output to ensure compliance to RFP/RFI requirements as well as quality of grammar, context, organization, consistency of message, and presentation
  • Arranges and participates in kickoff, design team, and proposal status meetings; assists with team facilitation; and contributes to solution design
  • Populates proposal with standard text, such as corporate information and boilerplate responses as applicable
  • Collaborates with sales staff to identify win themes and discriminators and incorporates these elements into the proposal
  • Creates and edits PowerPoint presentations and case studies for sales staff, as requested
  • Writes proposal cover letters and executive summaries in conjunction with sales staff
  • Conducts periodic research and information gathering as necessary to meet design team needs
  • Produces final proposal documents (e.g., creates PDFs and duplicates and binds proposals for submission and distribution)
  • Occasionally interfaces with clients and RFP issuers on proposal clarifications (missing or incomplete information) and attends bidder's meetings
  • Occasionally delivers proposals to clients and courier depots and travels to Minacs sites to work with partners and sales staff
  • Travel may be required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Knowledge:         Degree in English, Communications, General Arts, or Business Administration.

 

Experience / Skill:         Minimum 3 years of technical writing, editing, and/or proposal management experience; Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint, and keyboarding skills; Intermediate Excel, Visio, and Acrobat skills; Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Project, desktop publishing, or other graphics software; General business administration, IT/networking terminology, and call centre exposure preferred; Driver's license and access to an automobile is an asset.
