Manager, New Product Marketing
Day-Timer a division of ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, is seeking a Manager, New Product Marketing. This means we need a talented individual like you to join this great organization and be part of the Day-Timer Team located in East Texas, PA (suburban Philadelphia).
The New Product Marketing Manager will be capable of planning and executing the new product development plan for Day-Timer at a strategic and tactical level; with primary emphasis on products outside the traditional printed Day-Timer products. Through knowledge of consumers and marketplace, he/she will leverage the brand and create competitive differentiation by using new electronic technologies and partnering with licensors/vendors to develop products, apps and services to meet today's consumer needs and add value to their lives.
Working in a fast pace environment and leading internal and external teams, he/she will ensure that well defined new products drive new customer acquisition across all sales channel (Direct and Wholesale) leveraging diverse marketing techniques (i.e. internet, catalog and on-shelf retail) and for all global markets (NA, UK and AU) and deliver sales and profit
growth.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
- Develop product marketing models beyond today's experience (i.e. licensing, royalty, sponsorship, revenue sharing business arrangements).
- Strong working Knowledge and Understanding of consumer habits, behaviors and competitive options to carve out DT "Blue Ocean" business opportunities.
- Manage projects at various stages from concept to handoff.
- Create financially viable new revenue streams consistent with DT Strategic Plan to leverage brand equity.
- Go beyond "core" focus by customer segment, product and service.
- Expand and enhance brand vision based on consumer needs.
- Develop the methodology to cost effectively and test, and prototype, to successfully launch product marketing initiatives.
- Determine Marketing, Financial and Operational Resources required throughout the company to facilitate success.
- Take Leadership role in Corporate Strategic Planning Process.
- Create P&L results model; with both vertical and horizontal accountability.
- Focus on end consumer behavior and the ability to enhance their lives.
- Passionate, confident, and accountability in driving "new Big ideas."
- Create operating contribution growth which will be consistent with end consumers across all channels and markets through the development of products, services and partnerships.
- Ability to accurately predict and deliver results consistent with business plans.
- Measure and manage new product development investments.
- Establish Brand positioning & competitive differentiation platforms in order to win against the competition and deliver unique benefits.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in Strategic Marketing and long term Key Strategic Product Marketing Development is required
- Launching of new products is a requirement.
- Experience with Licensing is preferred.
- Proven past experience with Top consumer brands, an electronic component is required.
- Demonstrated creativity and milestone project management is required
- A market research background is required
- Apps uploads experience is preferred.
- Must have the ability to successfully manage several initiatives and/or projects simultaneously
- Self motivation and attention to detail is required
- Ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment is required
- Strong analytical skills are required
- This position requires excellent written and verbal skills, able to present ideas and products to various groups in the organization; Leadership skills particularly of cross-functional teams
- Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) for data analysis, research, communication, presentations, database software and web knowledge a plus
- Has experience linking Strategic New Product Vision to Channel Marketing plans.

EDUCATION
Four-year degree in Marketing/Business Administration or related field is required. Preferred MBA.
