Manager, Resin Procurement

DESCRIPTION:

·         Lead and coordinate procurement and control activities for PE, PP and PET resin and additives to meet business units plant production schedules, inventory targets, and quality requirements at the best value ($200 + million in spend).

·         Analysis, planning, ordering, resolution of issues related payment, delivery, supplier transitions/business allocations.

·         Develop allocation plans to support business strategy, work with x-functional peers to qualify alternative sources.

·         Lead the simplification, standardization, and systematizing the resin ordering process to improve coverage, reliability and accuracy of the payment process, etc.

·         Own PET, PE and PP purchases including strategy development, market intelligence, forecasts for the general manager.

·         Lead systematization and improvement of forecasting and ordering process.

·         Assist Director of Strategic Materials in developing systems, processes, methodology's to help build organization capacity.

·         Train and develop subordinates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         BA/BS required, Chemical Engineering preferred.

·         Strong performer with 7-10 years work experience with background in strategic sourcing/purchasing, materials management, and supply chain management.

·         SAP proficiency strongly preferred.

·         Strong negotiation, strategic thinking skills, communication, analytical, organization skills.

·         Manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.

·         Good problem identificati and solving skills.

·         Plastic resin purchasing background preferred; self-starter with track record of strong performance, motivated to achieve.
