Description: The Manager Safety will assist in the development and coordination of all safety and loss control functions of Madison Square Garden properties and associated operations including; Madison Square Garden Arena & Practice Facility, Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon Theatre, The Chicago Theatre and Network Operations. Conducts facility safety inspections, audits field safety activities and assists in training initiatives. Performs accident investigations and follows up on corrective action recommendations. Obtains data and distributes reports from on-site self inspections as well as inspections conducted by VP Safety, local management and/or Insurance Safety Consultants. Reports safety issues to facilities maintenance/operations/construction personnel, contacts vendors and assists with follow-up activities. Monitors Worker’s Compensation, General Liability and Auto claims and acts as a liaison to insurance carriers, local management, Corporate Risk Management, benefits, injured employees and medical providers. Reviews and processes accident investigation and loss prevention reports, and inputs investigation data for generation of trending reports. Assists with the development, distribution, training and implementation of formal safety policies, programs and procedures. Ensures that all health and safety violations issued by various government agencies are responded to within the specified time frames. Assists with all safety related activities associated with the MSG Renovation project, significant construction and/or capital project work. Conducts specific Job Hazard Analysis and identifies necessary personal protective equipment and/or engineering control measures. Prepares and distributes informational documents and participates in special projects as assigned.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Sciences, and/or Engineering with a minimum of five years experience in entertainment, construction and/or safety related field. Will possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills in a high stress environment with the ability to interface with a variety of internal employees and external business contacts. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to multi-task in this highly confidential, fast paced, detail oriented environment. Will possess or have the ability to obtain necessary certifications as required by Federal, State and Local laws. This includes appropriate Certificates of Fitness for NYC facilities, Arena and Theatrical Rigging Certification, etc.
