Manager/Senior Manager R&D Finance

Position Summary
The Manager/Sr. Manager of Finance will serve as a central point in the R&D Finance organization to coordinate and drive key financial processes analyses and reporting. This is a global position spanning all sites and functions in R&D. This Finance Professional will partner closely with the R&D Finance Leadership Team and work routinely with all members of R&D Finance to ensure quality meaningful and timely deliverables. The Manager/Sr. Manager is expected to work in a hands-on fashion and be able to seamlessly move between detailed data analysis process and project management and executive presentation. Finally this leader must be a fully credible and trusted representative for the R&D Finance Leadership Team able to speak insightfully and accurately on their behalf
Major Duties & Responsibilities
• Drive monthly quarterly and annual financial processes including strategic plan budget forecast monthly close
• Consolidate data analyses and reports covering Discovery Research Development (CMC) Vaccines Clinical Regulatory and Medical Affairs
• Present financial results and plans in a variety of forums
• Support assigned R&D project teams
• Serve as a key member of the R&D Finance Senior Leadership Team
• Conduct a variety of ad-hoc analyses
• Lead Intangible Impairment Review processes on a quarterly basis
• Interact with Corporate Tax and lead Tax-related analyses
• Interface with Group Financial Reporting as required
• Provide financial modeling analysis and decision support for significant initiatives/decisions including Portfolio Valuations and Capital Investments
• Interface with the AstraZeneca R&D finance function as required to enhance communication information flow and alignment
Educations:
Requirements/Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Accounting Economics or Finance required
• Master of Business Administration or equivalent preferred
Experience
• 5+ years of progressive accounting financial analysis and reporting experience
• Biotechnology or pharmaceutical R&D Finance experience beneficial
Special Skills/Abilities
• Desire and ability to work hands-on with SAP and TM1 to enter retrieve analyze and report on all R&D financial data
• Strong knowledge of financial modeling and analysis budgeting and forecasting
• Management Reporting & Presentation skills – must be effective and comfortable summarizing information creating and delivering executive-level presentations and dynamically engaging senior finance and R&D leadership
• Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
• Customer focus – dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a complex global environment while appreciating and respecting cultural and organizational diversity
